Message from Fab – We are relocating!!

It is with a heavy, but grateful, heart that I come to announce this month that I will be closing the doors of Spirited Hand Studio in Cincinnati. The reason for this is because my family will be relocating soon to Philadelphia to start a new chapter in our lives. As I prepare for this new transition, I have come to appreciate this meaningful work even more and all of the amazing people I have met in the past few years because of it. So, this is a message of gratitude from a heart full of wonderful memories, and I hope, one way or another, our paths will cross again.

I am grateful to all the creative children I have had the pleasure to work with and to learn from. You have kept me humble and grounded. And your parents are generous human beings who faithfully brought you to my camps to experience art as a spiritual pathway.

I am grateful to my art assistants, especially Mary Lennard, Kristine Flerlarge, Elizabeth Balskus and Brian Geeding; your faith in me and your dedication always gave me extra energy to keep on creating.

I am grateful to the creative souls I have collaborated with throughout the years to create new programs, retreats, or just the occasional existential conversation which led to new discoveries.

And I am grateful to all the companions who I had the privilege to listen to and hold their stories. It has been an honor to walk with you, to learn with compassion, and to share our humanity in a way that creates space for healing and self-growth.

Although my studio will close by the end of this month, I won’t depart from Cincinnati until June of 2019. Currently, my work will continue on a small scale; I will be working from home offering individual spiritual companionship sessions in my personal studio. I will also be teaching at The Hive for the next few months, collaborating at Women Writing for a Change during summer, and I will be at The Barn with two camps in July. I will continue to be available to collaborate in retreats, and most importantly, I will be using this transition to dedicate myself to my art, to reflect, and to write about the work of the past few years.

In the spirit of generosity, some of my materials and furniture will be going to two amazing places: Scrap It Up, a nonprofit creative reuse center, and Tikkun Farm in its work and dedication to restore the community. I hope you check them out and give them your support.

The work of shifting consciousness and healing is never done, and I will keep holding space for creativity and restoration in many years to come. Thank you for coming to create at the studio. I hope we can meet again before I finally leave town.
