Bring who you are and use your VOICE to ask for what you need!!
Most women are starving! We are hungry for food that truly nourishes us, power equality, freedom to express ourselves, acceptance for who we are, and the right to reflect our true image. We have grown accustomed to starvation by restricting our appetites and needs, restraining ourselves in public by becoming quietly smaller to the point of invisibility, and by being measured up to unrealistic standards of perfection. All of these actions have costs us self-love and created space for self-hate. Through the inheritance of patriarchy we have been taught to use these tools of oppression against ourselves, our sisters and daughters. The control of the female body is a weapon to keep us under the impression that we are less. The more visible we become on our own terms, the more physical, emotional and mental perfection is demanded from us. Perfectionism and body shame are distractions that keep us from achieving our power, creativity, true beauty, and ability to collaborate on the transformation of our world. Into Her Own Image is a retreat for women seeking space and community to practice self-love, body liberation, and positive self-image. By using the art of self-portrait, you will be called to discard old unsustainable images and create space to reveal your true image in the here and now. Join us for creativity, revelation, and true sisterhood that nourishes the soul and loves the female body. All art supplies are included, plus a 18"X24" - STRETCHED CANVAS. Format:
