MANDALA CREATIONS Ages 9 to 12 (beginning at 4th grade)
Mandala Creations is a creative experience for youth entering 4th through 8th grades (ages 9 and up). This high-quality and small size art camp is designed to explore the beauty and symbolism of the mandala originally found in nature, and represented in several spiritual traditions and indigenous art. From primitive cave drawings to contemporary art, the mandala has been used in many cultures as a spiritual tool to depict, capture and express the Sacred.
What is a Mandala?
Mandala is the Sanskrit word for “circle”. It can be understood as a sacred image, or a pattern, organized around a unifying center of energy. Mandalas represent diversity within unity – a gathering of many integrated into one. The pattern found within the mandala can help describe the nature of our being as well as the nature of our Cosmos.

Our art studio is a communal space where artists, despite of age or artistic skills, have a unique voice. We offer a holistic approach to art-making combining mixed-media art with spiritual practices like yoga, chanting, prayer, singing bowls, walking meditation, and sand mandalas. Our daily mindful practices prepare our young artists to be focused and to work well in group. During camp, art becomes the foundation to build a community centered in peace, love and creativity.
